In 2013, Amma launched Amrita SeRVe – Self-Reliant Villages. Her mission is to transform impoverished villages across rural India by fostering self-reliance and sustainability. Farmers produce most of our food, yet many of them live in poverty and have difficulty meeting their needs. Amma says we must move forward with one heart and one mind to protect and serve them. Amrita SeRVe’s work is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
