The first day of the Civil 20 India Summit was a remarkable success. Starting with the Steering Committee meeting in the morning, eminent personalities united to discuss sustainable ways to face global challenges. The breakout sessions for C20 working groups also fostered meaningful solutions for practical policies that could be implemented on local and international levels.
In the afternoon, the Inauguration of the C20 Summit took place to bring diverse global perspectives committed to long-lasting change. Amma’s address as Chair of C20 emphasised unity and compassion. She highlighted Ashram initiatives that have already uplifted hundreds of thousands of people who were in dire life circumstances.
India’s Hon. Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh, also addressed the gathering. He praised civil society’s role in driving powerful change and emphasised that collaboration between government and civil society can bring forth ways to make a difference for the well-being of society overall.
