    Highlights from Ganesha Puja Festival 2024 – Amritapuri

    The Ganeshotsavam, which began in Amritapuri in connection with Vinayaka Chaturthi, has come to an end. The procession, which started from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham Amritapuri Campus and the Ayurveda Medical College, culminated at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. During the ceremony held in the Ashram premises, Amma performed offerings to the Ganesh idols and led prayers for world peace. Hundreds of people, including foreigners, participated in the procession and prayers. The eleven-day-long Ganeshotsavam concluded with the immersion of the Ganesh idols at the Amritapuri beach.

    Relive the joyful moments from the recent #Onam celebrations at #Amritapuri, where thousands gathered to celebrate with Amma in a spirit of unity and happiness. The day began with Amma inspiring all present to pray for a world filled with peace and compassion, setting the tone for a day full of festivities and love.

    The celebrations featured a stunning Thiruvathira performance, with around 300 women from across the globe dancing in perfect harmony, their traditional Kerala attire creating a beautiful blend of colors and rhythm.

    The festivities continued with Amma distributing prasad, including a special meal for Lakshmi, the beloved Ashram elephant.

    The evening was marked by a unique and powerful retelling of the #Ramayana by the Ashram’s Swaminis and Brahmacharinis. As women actors, it was a reversal of an age-old tradition where it is often men who play all the roles.

    The day concluded with a beautiful performance by the Ashram children, who presented a #Sanskrit drama and classical dances, sharing a message of hope, love, and a brighter future.
