    ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 65 ശതമാനവും ഗ്രാമീണരാണ്. കാര്‍ഷികവൃത്തിയെ മാത്രം ആശ്രയിച്ചു കഴിയുന്ന അവരിലെ 19 ശതമാനത്തോളം പേരും ദരിദ്രരാണ്. രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ വിശപ്പ് മാറ്റാന്‍ പകലന്തിയോളം പണിയെടുക്കുന്ന ഈ കര്‍ഷകരുടെ പട്ടിണിക്ക് പരിഹാരം കണ്ടെത്താനും അവരുടെ ഭാവി ശോഭനമാക്കുന്നതിനുമായി സ്വയം പര്യാപ്ത ഗ്രാമങ്ങള്‍ എന്ന ലക്ഷ്യവുമായി ‘അമൃത സെര്‍വ്’ എന്ന പേരിലുള്ള ഒരു ബൃഹത്തായ പദ്ധതിക്ക് 2013-ൽ അമ്മ തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചു.

    ഗ്രാമീണരുടെ ആരോഗ്യം, ജലലഭ്യതയും ശുചീകരണവും, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം, കാര്‍ഷികമേഖലയിലെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ, കൂടുതൽ വരുമാനമാർഗ്ഗങ്ങൾ, അടിസ്ഥാന സൗകര്യങ്ങള്‍ ലഭ്യമാക്കൽ, സ്വയം ശാക്തീകരണം തുടങ്ങിയ മേഖലകളിലാണ് അമൃതാ സെർവ് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നത് .
