    Amma shared that spiritual love is the only way to heal the hearts of the world and its people. Amma’s video message was part of the Govt of Bharat’s Global Spirituality Mahotsav.

    Prof Bhavani Rao is Amrita University’s UNESCO Chair in Women’s Empowerment & Gender Equality. She represented Amma and delivered an address with the theme that spirituality and life are inseparable and based upon compassion.

    The Ministry of Culture organised the event, a first of its kind spiritual gathering based upon the theme from inner peace to world peace. The Mahotsav took place in Hyderabad, Telangana, March 14-17. More than 300 leaders from diverse faiths participated and people from over 100 countries joined in.

    Shivaratri 2024 – Amritapuri Highlights

    Maha Shivaratri was honoured with joyful ceremonies in Amritapuri. Throughout the day, Amma led meditation, satsang, and bhajans in the Ashram’s main prayer hall. As well, monastics, residents, and visitors took part in expressions of devotion and penance to Lord Shiva—from ancient Vedic rites to modern dance performances. This included Amma feeding Lakshmi when the Ashram elephant arrived to receive her blessings.

    “Mahashivaratri is a festival that stirs waves of devotion and contemplation of Lord Shiva in our hearts and minds. The word shivam means ‘auspiciousness’. It is the supreme truth that is supremely auspicious,” said Amma in her satsang.

    “Lord Shiva’s form, adornments and lilas are all meant to awaken us from the slumber of maya’s delusion. Shivaratri reminds us that if we want to transcend the darkness of ignorance and enter the state of eternal wakefulness, we have to open our inner eye.”

    At the end of her programme, Amma spontaneously rose to dance to a traditional Kerala tribal song. The expression of bliss on her face was one that cannot be captured in words. It delighted the thousands present in the Ashram, as well as those watching via webcast worldwide.

The highlight was Amma’s spontaneous dance to a Baduga tribal song, encapsulating the blissful spirit of the festival. The celebration extended into Amma’s darshan, with devotees continuing the playful tradition, ensuring a colorful and joyous commencement of Spring for all present and those watching online.

    Global Spring of Love: Amma’s Yatra 2024 – Highlights from Seattle, USA – July 4-5

    After five long years, Amma’s 2024 North American Tour began with a busy two-day program at the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue, #Washington. Thousands of people gathered to meet her, their hearts filled with joy. When Amma entered the hall, she said, “It is all your love that brought Amma here!”

    As is her way, Amma led meditation, gave Satsang, and sang bhajans. And then, of course, she gave all her darshan in the form of her motherly embrace.

    On the second day, Amma also conducted prayers for world peace and harmony. Everyone joined Amma in envisioning a brighter future for humankind and Mother Nature. The light of Amma’s love continued to shine in their hearts as her darshan stretched past the whole day and night and ended the next morning.

    Many special guests attended the programs, including Consul General Sri Prakash Gupta, the first consul for the newly established Indian Consulate in #Seattle, and his wife Neha, who were delighted to meet Amma. Sri Suresh Sharma accompanied them from the consulate. He has been a staunch supporter of Amma’s humanitarian initiatives over the decades.

    As well, Jared Nieuwenhuis, Bellevue City Council Member, and Shree Saini, the first Indian-American to win the Miss World America title, welcomed Amma to the Seattle area.

    Amma’s next tour stop is Oakland, California.
